I didn't receive a "magic link" email
Are you in the right place?
A reminder we are untied, the UK's personal tax app.
We often get magic link help requests for services that aren't ours, ranging from the Eureka Surveys App to the Kyiv Independent and Monzo.
We can only directly look into things for users of untied. If you are waiting for a magic link for another service, there are some tips below, but you'll likely need to contact their helpdesk.
And if you want to do your UK tax filings ... you can see how much we care about customer service.
We've wanted to top the Google rankings - and we have (but didn't expect it to be for this)
We've realised it's because we're top of Google's search results for magic link emails not arriving. As much as we'd like to lend a hand and are proud to be top of search for something, we don't manage the world's magic links (we'd be well-off if we did).
Magic link tips
In general, look in your junk or spam mailbox, and double check that you've entered the right email address that matches where you're looking (autofill services can overwrite that).
Also sometimes your address can find its way in a do-not-send list for a service (possibly because you've once marked something else as spam). Try setting up a different email address and see if that works.
untied magic links
When you sign up to untied you simply need to enter your email address and an email will be sent to you with a 'magic link'. If you view this email from your device just tap on the magic link button in the email and untied will be opened and you'll be logged in. You can use magic links for both the untied mobile app and untied in the browser (including untied lite).
If you can't read your email on the same device that untied is installed on, don't worry because the email also contains a code you can type into the app to get logged in.
The magic link email usually arrives within a few seconds. If you don't see it straight away, give it a minute or two and check your spam folders before trying again (restart the app or hit the back button). If still no go - and if you are trying to log into untied (but not any other service!!) - contact us and we'll get you going.
Prefer a password?
Once you're logged in, if you prefer, you can set a password to use next time you log in - instead of the magic link email.
- To do this in the mobile app, hit 'More...', then 'Security Settings'
- If you use untied Pro in the browser, navigate to Plan & Settings > Security > Set new password.
You'll need to get an authorisation code first to your email address.
You will continue to have the option to log in via an email link.
The same password can be entered in place of the "secret code" when logging in via the browser or your untied mobile app.or in the web browser, click on your name in the top right-hand corner, then select 'Account'
