Enabling MTD - Making Tax Digital - in untied

Enabling MTD in untied

While HMRC are still in their beta testing phase, we will manually enable your untied account for Making Tax Digital. This is to make sure that you are ready for it (as for most people once you're in, it's an effort to revert back to the previous self assessment system).

Get in touch with us and we can do this - you will need an untied Pro account.

We will also generally have an onboarding phone call with you so we can go through what it involves and to make sure you are comfortable.

STEP 1: Onboarding phone call and any follow up - to make sure that you understand how things work and how we support you (there may be some actions from this)

STEP 2: Making sure you are signed up to MTD with HMRC

STEP 3: Linking untied to your MTD account with HMRC

Once you are enabled, you will see a new Digital Tax (MTD) section in untied in the browser.

The first time you access this page you will need to connect to HMRC. This will open a popup to authorise untied as your software ... you will need a Government Gateway account (HMRC login) to do this.

Once you have completed authorisation you may need to refresh the MTD page a couple of times (it will update automatically in time, but we know that nobody like waiting!!), and you will see your MTD business listed along with your obligations:
