Enabling MTD - Making Tax Digital - in untied

To get MTD to work

It doesn't matter what order you do things in, but if you haven't completed all the steps you will simply see three dots in untied.

You need to:

  • Be signed up with HMRC for MTD (we can do this for you - contact us)
  • Complete your tax profile in untied (basically this is what identifies you through the software)
  • Enable MTD untied (go to the Making Tax Digital tab and enable it ... if you need to go back to self assessment for a previous year you can do so - just click on the newly renamed Legacy Tax Filings tab)
  • Connect untied to your software (the images below are from untied in the browser - you can also do this from the mobile app)

If you see three dots

Then this means you're not properly signed up for MTD. Contact us if you want help with this.

Help

We have a range of small group onboarding calls ranging from MTD essentials, through how to get the most of untied and MTD, and regular clinics.

What do to once set up

You'll be responsible for making quarterly updates in untied. These are optional while you are in MTD voluntarily (but you will still likely get reminders!).
